Hello folks.
I’ve been advised by my medical team that my Blog changes direction so often and so quickly that I should provide neck-braces! I can’t afford them, so I can only beg: please don’t sue me for whiplash. I am very poor!
This is not love poetry, political spleen or ridiculous advice on writing, criminality or homelessness. This is my other arm (yes, I have unusual jumpers) known as Company for Christmas.
I’m trying to do something lovely for people who will find themselves alone this Christmas. It requires no money and only a fraction of your time! It may even earn you some Blog traffic.
You can help by simply reblogging this post. Job done.
If you want, you can also read this post and offer advice, thoughts or even volunteer to help out. No matter what, it can be as little as ten minutes.
You can even wear a badge by putting an image widget on your page and linking it to this image.

I’d love this idea to reach thousands of people, and if each reader re-blogs, it will!
For anyone new to the idea
Company for Christmas is a beautiful idea. Using posts and comments, the C4C Blog will be there for people who find themselves away from loved ones at… you guessed it, Christmas.
So far it’s a kind of chat forum – using blogs because that’s what we all know (and they’re safer than chat-rooms).
The Story Sofa
The site is live and has a few followers and some volunteers.
Thanks go to our confirmed volunteers:
Invites have also gone to:
C4C is up and ready to host conversations. Please look it over and leave any thoughts or ideas as comments.
So what next?
December will be busy for everyone, as we burn ourselves out spending money we don’t have on things no-one needs for reasons lost in commercialism. The big day will be here before we know it so we should prepare C4C while we have time.
These are the next steps.
Does the site look good? Does it make sense? Would you know how to start talking if you wanted to do so?
If there is any uncertainty, please leave a comment so I can fix it or make it clearer.
Could there be more on the site? A jokes page, links to good/useful/happy stuff?
Any suggestions, please comment – here on on the C4C blog.
SpokenHeart would like to open the Blog for longer. So would I, but I fear it’s asking too much of our small band of volunteers. What do you think?
Any volunteers?
Would you give two hours of your Christmas to watching the site? All you need to do on the day is reply to comments by writing a 2-3 word post, and then have a ‘comment conversation’ on that post? (Full instructions are given to volunteers.)
Any questions?
To our volunteers so far – is it all clear? Do you have suggestions? Do you have questions? Would you like a ‘dry run’ to see if the chats work?
Once again, if you do, leave a comment here, or on the C4C site. Or you can email me here: c4c4wp@gmail.com

I’ll be attending late on Christmas night here in Australia probably after 10pm AEST. I think it’s a great idea.
